Dogs are wonderful, intelligent animals and deserve to be treated as such. With the right training and upbringing they can be part of your family and accompany you, welcomed, where ever you go. However, the opposite is also true, managed incorrectly as a puppy, an adolescent or an older dog joining the family, they can be difficult to manage, suffer anxiety and even be dangerous. We, as owners, are lucky that dogs have an amazing ability to ‘live in the moment’ therefore with the required knowledge and desire can be rehabilitated back into that pleasurable family pet once more.
Owning your dog should be a joy, if you are not finding this the case due to the dogs behaviour then you may need professional help. Where as, of course, obedience training is hugely beneficial to both dog and owner, once a dog learns behaviours that are not conducive to our lifestyle obedience training is not always enough.
Behaviour reformation is a different skill set and takes many years of study and practical experience, once gained is invaluable to be able to reform a dogs’ behaviour, quiet quickly in most cases. We have this knowledge, skills and techniques to help you to make the changes you wish to achieve.
As the owner, you have the biggest part to play in reforming your dogs’ behaviour, we can advise, teach, demonstrate and guide, but ultimately it is you that has to do what it takes to achieve your goals, which will inevitably mean much effort and resolve.
We love dogs and so our methods are reward based learning, however, being mothers we know raising well adjusted children needs a balanced approach, the same is needed for dogs, children and dogs require consequences for actions, both rewarding and non-rewarding.
Our goal is to improve the lifestyle of your dog and thereby improving your lifestyle resulting in you enjoying an enriched relationship with your dog.
